Program educational objectives for biomedical engineering
The University of Florida biomedical engineering program prepares its graduates to enter the practice of engineering or related activity, for graduate studies in engineering, and for productive, competent and responsible citizenship.
Laboratory and design experience is integrated throughout the curriculum. Humanities and social science courses are included to improve communication skills and to prepare students for the socio-economic environment in which engineering is practiced.

An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
